Zion has seen a clear role change in the past two games. He is basically the primary ball handler for the Pelicans, averaging an insane 24 potential assists in that time. He’s turned those performances into 11 and 9 assists.

Granted, the opposition wasn’t as good as the Lakers are in those two games, but I actually really like this matchup…

The Lakers’ new defensive scheme means they pack the paint with bodies (least points allowed in the paint over L10 games). That leaves perimeter shooters open and I expect Zion to drive and kick the ball out to them frequently tonight.

If the role stays the same, he has a big chance of cashing multiple rungs of this ladder tonight.
