Absolutely! This was an important consideration in designing HIV testing at our @TEACTUSM student run bridge clinic, where we offer testing to every patient. This both honors patient autonomy and can help destigmatize HIV dx and tx.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions from my non-Black friends about how to be a better ally to Black people. I suggest unlearning and relearning through literature as just one good jumping off point, and have broken up my anti-racist reading list into sections:
For all the protestors, pepper spray is oil based. If you get sprayed DO NOT rub your eyes. Immediately blink as much as you can to wash out some of the oil with your own tears. Then, wash your eyes with baby shampoo and rinse copiously with water. Be safe.
