In Session 4: The Future of Us, our speakers shared with us how we can make an impact on our own futures. Owning our time, Bees, Respect, and Gorillas, we’re more connected and inspired to change the world together
"And I think the number one lesson we can learn from gorillas right now – is how we, too, can bounce back from a time of tremendous loss." -Tara Stoinski #WeRise#TEDxATL2023
Moe Ari Brown says, “Whether we acknowledge it or not, at our core, we all have a deep desire to be radically authentic. Radical Authenticity means genuinely expressing yourself in the presence of real or perceived opposition-- or the threat of not belonging.”
Kris Braman discovered that the best way to get people involved in saving the bees is for them to have a direct positive experience with plants and bees.
She says, “ you can bee the change”. All it takes is to spread the buzz. 🐝 #TEDxATL2023
"Kris Braman says, "It’s important to understand that wild bees are very similar to humans— they need a few basic things to survive— food, water, and a place to rear their young."
We can offer bees a better life in cities. In turn, they can continue to help us as we help them🐝
"I’ve learned the hard way that when I cram things too tightly, I might physically get to the next appointment, but my mind stays behind on what came before or starts running ahead to what comes next." - Andrew McConnell

In Session 3: Interplay, our speakers seek the power of change for the better. Technology, science, and politics are at our fingertips. It’s up to us to be the change we wish to see in the world. #TEDxATL2023
Joe Bankoff says, “There may be other ways - but creating election districts of whole existing communities would restore truly representative government. This would get more Americans to vote, create a government that can solve problems, and restore our belief in democracy.”
Joe Bankoff has a solution to prevent #Gerrymandering. Whole community districts.
Unlike current districts, these will be based on where The People choose to live - not where politicians choose to place them. #TedxAtlanta2023
"I believe solving wicked problems requires us to go local and broaden our lens on WHO can contribute to the solutions." - Debra Lam #TEDxATL2023#WeRise
