. . . You know that thing you do to your counterparts? Like. . . telling them that they're handsome and cool and all that.
Can you. . . just sit here with me and do that? But to me?
Y--yeah. It does. I just-- don't feel. . . like I'm particularly masculine today. I may look it to the outside, but I feel like. . .
[He tries to explain, but realizes it's useless. He sighs, crossing arms and turning away.]
He hums in confusion for a moment before his ear twitches.
"Oooooh, does this have to do with your transition thing, or whatever?"
He really didn't understand it much, but he accepted it anyway.
"Dude, don't worry about it!"
. . .
[How does he word this? He looks away for a moment, before his eyes lower to the ground.]
. . . Not feeling particularly masculine today.
[He admits, gnawing on his lip for a moment.]
He zooms over to him, leaning against him as he throws an arm over his shoulder. He had that usual smile on his muzzle, like always.
"You okay, Shadz? You're lookin' a little down."
[Yeah, that's about right, Shadow thinks when Sonic walks in. His tired, vacant expression seems to slightly brighten.]
Hey. . .
[Turning eyes forcefully from the mirror, trying to distract from the roiling wave of oppressive dysphoria rearing up in his head.]
[Staring in front of a mirror. The light colored fur where his top scars were is fiddled with by gentle fingers. A low sigh, eyes close. He was usually happy with his appearance, but. . . for some reason, he felt unsatisfied with it, today.]
