@Nithya_Shrii the saliva has always been there as a built-in natural protector long before any sticks ot intentional tools…its an evolutionary feature basicalliy present all mammals, including our distant ancestors 😘
Quick walk with a colleague to Chinatown Binondo: where we bought fresh lumpia at Carvajal, some loose tea at Beetin grocery, then rode this e-trike going back to intramuros. getting momentum for next week, finals week!!!
🇻🇪Advanced international rescue radars are detecting heartbeats and shallow breathing under rubble in Venezuela, locating unconscious survivors that microphones can’t find.
The technology is giving rescuers a critical edge in the search for victims.
@Uday_T2 this is so touching (i think it was from a 2023 Syria-Turkey strong earthquake) beautiful reminder of how strong sibling bonds can be, even in the darkest moments..both kids Mariam and ilaaf survived and were rescued safely.
Since Friday night, I’ve been battling severe frozen shoulder pain. it was excruciating, keeping me awake, with every tiny movement feeling like fire. No rehab doctor available until Monday. The nights were brutal.
In the middle of that pain, I offered it all up to Jesus for the suffering people still trapped in the rubble in Venezuela : the babies, children, mothers, fathers, and elderly. I prayed for their rescue, comfort, and miracles.
Saturday brought updates on rescues ❤️. I felt real relief, deep peace, and renewed hope. Even when the pain flared badly again at night, I kept praying harder, uniting my suffering with theirs and with Our Lord’s Cross.
I only took my first pain medication after breakfast on Sunday, and things have improved. Today (Monday) Im going to see the rehab doctor.
This experience reminded me powerfully: the prayer of a suffering person for another is heard. Through intercessory prayer and redemptive suffering, God brings fruit sometimes visible, always spiritual.
Never underestimate the power of offering our pain to Jesus for others. He is close to the brokenhearted and the afflicted.
Lord, hear our prayers. Mary, Health of the Sick, pray for us. 🙏
@filemot@FrUgochukwu true i agree in our church the congregation doesnt aing with them anymore and i become impatient with the very long local versions of Gloria. God have mercy on me.
@NathaliaNeko@SaVanessCa i might do the same, im closer to the roof deck than the ground. if anything bad happens lesser debris and they can find me somewhere top layer rubble 🤷♀️
Men and women handle stress completely differently, and it’s by design.
Dr. Jeff Myers explains: Under stress, men’s bodies flood with dopamine and push them into action. Women’s bodies release norepinephrine and drive them to think, focus, and process more deeply.
Alone, each response has limits. Together? They balance each other perfectly, like two pitches of a roof leaning on one another to create real strength.
Research by Shelley Taylor (UCLA) introduced the “tend-and-befriend” response in females under stress , driven by oxytocin and norepinephrine, which promotes social connection and careful processing, complementing the male “fight-or-flight” dopamine-driven action response. This biological complementarity likely evolved to improve survival and offspring protection.
455 years of resilience, Manila. Don’t let concrete bury your soul.
Save our trees, honor heritage. Build a city worth inheriting.
Araw ng Maynila! But what’s left to celebrate if we keep killing her green lungs for toll roads?

@FrenlyTsubasa@TevinMacharia probably someone was praying for her at the same moment of instance 🙏 i hear stories like that. we intercede and pray for suffering people, then sometimes God works that way!
