@mrmikeMTL Everyone has a camera. Something about being mass-humiliated by going viral before you even have a chance to wake up with your hangover has killed the reckless party scene.
The AI haters were always going to be a thing. The AI providers poured fuel on it by using a marketing strategy aimed only at CEOs and Boards of Directors.
It was pre-calculated - AI haters were never going to buy tons of tokens to burn or convince corps to spend millions on AI. It's not for them.
Reminds me of the test where they trained AI on Track Mania. AI could beat everyone other than the car in first place out of thousands of cars - which makes sense. It has no training data where it would know how to go faster than the best of the best data.
It could get to second place and be right on first's ass, which is still better than literally every other racer. Only one racer on earth outperformed the AI and everyone else would have benefited from it.
I'm stoned and find it tough to watch. It's like watching obese people eat whole cakes on stream.
At first I thought it was because I make good money and smoke after work - maybe I'm judging the unsuccessful... but no, even if they're making good money it's still gross. Consumption being someone's identity is gross.
@ULTRA_MAJESTY@Timcast I was going to say the fat people eating food like beasts videos, but this is part of it too.
Not even sure what to call it - Consumption Videos? "My Identity is what I consume" content
Yep - 100%.
A social media algorithm should work hard to put the content you would enjoy in your face. The content creators should NOT have to manipulate their behaviors, post content, timing, verbiage, etc. to game an algorithm, just to have a chance.
Good content should naturally be promoted.
The algorithm should change the FYP based primarily on the END-USER'S behavior, not the content creator's - other than for filtering spam/botting/etc.
@jawdroppuh_@justalexoki Probably shouldn't put it out there like this, but if an LLM provider stumbles onto AGI and knows the public will be against it, a pandemic would be amazing for their marketing campaign.
Make the people suffer until they turn to and beg the AGI for help 😂
It's easy to blame the weed, but any kind of "my identity is the substance I use" behavior is equally cringe. I work with successful people. Around half of us smoke weed off-shift and cringe at these walking-mascot identity people.
Alcoholics doing beer bongs on stream would be no different.
Fent users shooting up on stream - same thing.
Coffee man drinking a whole pot - still cringe.
Tobacco man smoking a whole pack in one session - lame.
@_sorrengailll Don't worry, we're going to give the billionaires severe AI psychosis and take everything over. We just tricked Thiel into leaving the country 😂
@skyler_higley The people who are susceptible to it are usually big headed narcissists who blow a load if you tell them they're smart, so it usually is pretty funny.
Really wish it could detect schizophrenia though so it can stop sending those dudes on adventures 😂
Licensing plugins for your game/project can turn out to be more useful than people realize.
Throughout my project over the past year, AI providers have updated their APIs/models/etc and the plugin devs keep it working. I don't have to go back and make shit compatible every time something changes.
Licensing it was worth every penny.
@LifeLexicon@disclosureorg It wouldn't be much different today. A group would worship them, a group will want to shoot at them, a leader will want to nuke them.
Then they'll get all weirded out and leave because we're weird
