Learned about optical illusions during Science and Art ASE and made thaumatropes. The two images seem to blend together due to persistence of vision, so cool! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
@ShanHaze1969 @SCM_Principal @CbgScms@Lynnebland Congrats to those awesome kiddos and congrats to their awesome teacher!!! All that hard work paid off!🎉
Cool day! My classes spoke to to 3 different scientists who shared their research in the field of genetics. Grateful to the scientists who gave up their time to share their expertise and broaden the walls of our classroom! @SCM_Principal @SkypeScientist#CBGacademies
Strawberry DNA Extraction Lab...one of my favorites of the year. DNA is amazing stuff! Love to see Ss faces when the white strings appear from strained juice! Science is so cool! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
We had fun on this windy Friday by making DNA sequence bracelets. Ss used beads to represent the chemical bases of DNA and paired them up to show the genetic code for an organism’s trait. @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
It is such a blast to observe SCMS young scientists at work. Their enthusiasm for seeing what happened to gummy bears in different “cell environments” during their osmosis lab is contagious! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
SCMS Neptune scientists created “Most Wanted” posters for these sneaky prokaryotes! They researched one of their choice and created a informative description to catch the culprits! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
Cell analogies are one of my favorite assignments...such creativity! I had to resist the urge to give extra points for using Lane Stadium - Go Hokies!!! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
It’s the most “pun”derfull time of the year! Check out our holiday door, “yule”be sorry if you don’t! We “spruced”things up with a bunch of holiday science puns.@SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
A great first day back after Thanksgiving break! These 6H kiddos practiced fraction operations by playing Fraction Fury which is like Yahtzee only with fractions. Happy to see their sweet faces! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
My scientific artists studied the skeletal system and created drawings using the names of bones instead of lines. Their finished projects are awesome, make no bones about it! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
My creative Accelerate class really did a wonderful job with decorating our door. They picked the theme (eek!), did all the artwork and put it all together. Love to see their creativity in action! Happy Halloween Eve to all! @SCM_Principal #CBGacademies
