When I come across news articles or tweets criticizing Rwanda and President Paul Kagame as a dictator, I often wonder about the perspective of these individuals. Do they possess a comprehensive understanding of Rwanda's history from 1962 to 1994? Have they witnessed the transformative work carried out by the FPR (Rwandan Patriotic Front) and Paul Kagame for this nation? Can they identify even a thousand individuals who can achieve at least 20% of what he has accomplished?

In 1994, Rwanda faced dire circumstances with zero funds in its banks, the loss of one million Tutsis, and the displacement of three million Rwandans. The country was plagued by over a million bodies strewn across the streets, with no functioning institutions whatsoever. There were no schools, water, food, hospitals, doctors, nurses, or any semblance of normalcy. The entire nation was engulfed in sorrow and despair, and Rwanda was even declared a failed state. Both Rwandans and the international community had lost hope.

However, amidst this devastation, one man, Paul Kagame, emerged and declared, "We will make it work." Despite the hundreds of thousands who had committed the heinous crime of genocide, Kagame advocated for forgiveness as a means to heal and move forward as a united country. He forgave those responsible for the genocide, and they, in turn, contributed to the betterment of Rwanda. This act of forgiveness instilled hope, courage, and commitment in the hearts of Rwandans. Together, they pledged to build a better nation.

Contrary to the accusations of dictatorship, President Kagame has achieved numerous milestones that leaders around the world aspire to accomplish. Rwanda is ranked as the second-best country in Africa for doing business according to the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business 2020 report. It boasts the third-best road infrastructure on the continent, as recognized by The Global Economy. Additionally, Rwanda is the fourth least corrupt country in Africa, according to Transparency International's 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index.

Furthermore, Rwanda has made significant strides in education and technology. It established Africa's first public coding academy in 2019 and implemented a one laptop per child policy in schools, a dream for many African nations. Rwanda has also become the second African country, after Nigeria, to gain access to Elon Musk's Starlink, enabling the connection of 3,000 schools to Starlink by 2024.

Moreover, Rwanda is recognized as Africa's safest country for solo travel, with a strong rule of law and an exceptional police force(ranked 2nd In Africa)
Kigali, its capital, is hailed as Africa's cleanest city. The country provides free healthcare, ranks second in gender equality in Africa, and offers universal eye care.
