Contrast this poll:

“Immigration is another key issue in Western Sydney, where there is an ethnically diverse population.

Around four out of five (or 86 per cent) of Western Sydney voters believe Australia's immigration intake should be lowered — but their reasoning varied.

Forty-six per cent of voters said that while immigration has been good for Australia, it should be reduced until the government improves housing affordability and infrastructure, while 40 per cent believed Australia should reduce immigration "as much as possible".

Only 14 per cent believed Australia should keep immigration levels as they are.”

With this poll:

A Newspoll conducted between Monday and Thursday last week shows the Coalition's primary vote crashing to an all-time low of 27 per cent, which has lifted Labor's two-party-preferred buffer to a dominant 58 per cent to 42 per cent.”

These polls shows just how much of a mess the conservative parties are in.

Despite the fact that even areas with a high migrant population think immigration is too high, the combined conservative vote is just 42% v Labor’s 58%.

Why is the Labor riding high when they continue to ignore the wishes of the Australian people?

The answer is simple. The Coalition is too weak and insipid to actually back a lower immigration rate. As a result voters are leaving the LNP in droves.

Unfortunately many voters prefer Labor or the Greens to One Nation. (Only four parties are put forward when polling, Coalition, Labor, Greens and PHON. The rest are lumped in as others) Rage baiting doesn’t cut it for many people.

If the Conservatives want to stem this leakage, we need a professional and polished party such as People First that has the structure and solutions to deal not just immigration but a range of other issues that will address the needs of Australians.
