Today was the final session of T550 2022! ❤️ We shared our projects and reflected on what we want to hold on to. #embracethemadness https://t.co/bszfpu6Rac
ever wondered what @PiN_Harvard phd students do in and out of the lab? @TFiveFifty challenged me to work on a creative project outside of my comfort zone...and this is what I came up with! welcome to an inside look at my life 🙈 @karen_brennan#phdchat

“Dont think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things.” – Ray Bradbury
With two weeks until T550 Madness, we were deep into getting things done with our projects in class today!
Each week before class, we host an informal tinkering session. This week, T550er Rehana introduced us to sewable circuits!🪡🧵✨ Video: https://t.co/en0qmhc1ue
In T550 today, we engaged a thought experiment from Neil Postman and Charles Weingartner's "Teaching as a Subversive Activity" to develop a curriculum entirely of questions that are relevant to learners. These are some of our questions: https://t.co/D8mEwUzliZ
today in radical ideas from @TFiveFifty: Unschooling by Ivan Illich. why do we go to school? are we subjecting ourselves to unhelpful structures like obligatory curriculums? what if learning was self-directed and teachers were guides instead of gatekeepers to knowledge? 🤔🤔
my roommate and I took a page out of @TFiveFifty / reflections on Gloria Ladson-Billings’ work on hip hop/cultural dialogue/remix and remixed our inspirations on this rainy fall evening. stay cozy, all. #academicrigor
"Appropriation is bad. But to think critically about history and society and culture and remixing it, is one way to learn." (Blackout poem by T550er Cherry Wu)
every week in @t550 we explore a different theme of learning by creating. this week, our theme is "remixing!" so for my project, i decided to remix da Vinci's The Last Supper...introducing:𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘴, because they too, deserved a seat at the table 😉
In T550 this week, we discussed two chapters—one by Seymour Papert and one by Edith Ackermann—as a way of exploring fundamental assumptions and commitments of constructivist/constructionist approaches to teaching and learning. (Video by TF Iman Rastegari!) https://t.co/zZLshojfBg
This is how one of my classmates "remixed" the famous @Nike swoosh while sharing some end-of-term inspiration with other classmates during the last class of @TFiveFifty course. Loved it! ♥️🌟
Some courses stay with you for the rest of your life :)

One of the best things that got kicked out of my system in @TFiveFifty course @hgse was the drive to perfect the conditions before kickstarting a new project. This image from #T550 is now a permanent inspiration while starting any endeavour in life. 😀
