Why was I not at Lord’s? Very fair and pertinent. It was a historic occasion and may I say I would have loved to be there. With the BCCI top brass and Sachin Tendulkar present as well, the incentive was there to travel to London for the day from Birmingham. To be honest, I did think about it. I actually landed in London the day before and could have easily stayed on before coming to Birmingham. Watched the final day and covered the action. But then would it have been fair? If I was there it would have been expected of me to do the interviews and the shows. Would it have been fair on the team who did all the hard work for 50 days? On the day that India won why should I go to Lord’s and take over coverage when they have done the hard grind?

Did I think of going? Yes, I did. Would it have helped the coverage? May be it would. I’d certainly be able to speak to Sachin and the BCCI top management, and some of the players. But then, if I did so I would have been unfair to my own people. It was their high point of the tour and to see them interview Kranti sitting on the Lord’s turf has given me tremendous joy. Yes, I did interview Amol Muzumdar. But that was after Trisha had left Lord’s and boarded the bus for Birmingham. @TrishaGhosal @snehasis_95
