Also keep in mind. I had never touched rails before getting this job and had done minimal react work

[Adam 🙈🙈 @TGFerox]

After working for a whole year as a web developer I’ve noticed things

1. I am learning to spot and fix mistakes quicker and therefore reduce time to get code approved

2. I’ve become fully comfortable using react and rails

3. I work more efficiently and finish tasks quicker

Really am starting to consider an ultra wide for my setup.

Currently I have 2 4K monitors.

My choices are either to invest in 2 more or get an ultra wide

Hard decision to make 😅

[Adam 🙈🙈 @TGFerox]

I’m going into this week pumped. Got a lot planned and a lot to do!

Big things are happening soon and its exciting 😁

I swear there aren’t enough hours in a day.

After spending 8 hours a day working, trying to make time for family / friends and then trying to build a startup.. theres my 24 hours gone 🤣

[gbae the app developer @daboigbae]

As a programmer - do you get 8 hours of sleep?

[Python Coding @clcoding]

Do you know the reason?

[Adam 🙈🙈 @TGFerox]

It’s now been officially a year since I became a full time developer

Safe to say my brain hasn’t turned to mush quite yet 🤣 but the amount of tea and coffee consumed in the last year is very high!

📍 Making progress on a design system to go with my book @PracticalUi 📘

I've looked at hundreds of colour systems and most of them seem to have the same problem 👇

◆ In light mode, shadows work well to indicate different levels of elevation. Unfortunately, shadows are hard to see in dark mode.

◆ In dark mode, we use progressively lighter backgrounds to indicate increasing levels of elevation, as light comes from above 🌞

❌ The problem:

Since foreground components generally consist of solid colours, they look different on the different background elevations.

✅ A solution:

Instead of using solid colours, I use alpha/transparent colours for foreground components to help ensure they look similar on different background elevations.

Have you considered using alpha colours in your design system? Do you see any issues with this approach?🤔

Here's a sneak peek at my colour system so far 👇

Such an amazing stream. Thanks to everyone who came in. It isn’t very often I find myself streaming and not realising it’s morning 😅

Look forward to another one tomorrow night
