Christa's death has been ruled a homicide by police, and is suspected to be the result of domestic violence. She is the first transgender person to be murdered in 2018.

A group of community members, activists, parents, educators, and political leaders won a tremendous victory this year. Conversion therapy - the practice of attempting to change a child's sexual orientation or gender identity, like what happened to Leelah - is no longer legal.

Leelah Alcorn's light left this world three years ago today. TGI Network stands alongside other trans advocacy organizations in remembering her life and heeding her call - to "Fix society. Please."
