damn shame. but i dont feel too down. nothing in it at all vs a team thats being hailed as possibly one of the best ever
would've been fun to force Kai in Drogba convos lol, but alas
I wasn't that bothered about this game before. Saw it as a bonus basically. But holy I am bricking it. Everyone is playing so well, just hope their legs stay fresh
Youtube is by far the best platform still. For personal enjoyment, but also morally. I hate these spoonfed zombie feeds that you endlessly scroll. Creates bad incentives/behaviours for creators and viewers. At least on youtube you need to click a video. Make people make choices
@Bd_irB_ll it's a fair debate. carra's by far the best mainstream pundit, tries to back up his claims and is the most candid about the nature of his job. Rio, Scholes etc are far worse. Either blatant sychophantic clout demons (rio) or dont seem to even watch/enjoy football (scholes)
@Doyenzo yea but they were never an established global superclub. Didn't have superstar players or sustained huge success. In the 2000s i barely heard about them. It was during the Klopp era that their brand grew most imo
i agree with this. Part of Arsenal's modern identity, why the club became 'cool', is because of the enormous promise, but ultimate lack of superclub success.
That alongside Wengerball, transcendent players, sense of 'class' + cultural ties that goes way back
I made an in depth video on Henry and the ballon d'or. I go through every year of his prime and rate whether he deserved it or not, if he was ever 'robbed' - and ultimately what the ballon d'or actually values.
check it out if you're interested (link below)
@VXerikos "nobody would argue" - ignores the video evidence of people arguing exactly that from that time period. i can show u tons more. I also lived it. By 05 most hardcore non casual football people saw the PL was better. Some saw it happening before. Keep pointing to 03 tho
can the myth of Serie A in the 2000s die pls. From 2000-02 they had 1 QF. Spain had 9, England had 7. By 03 Eng had a better coefficient.
03 had an all Italian final, and Milan were great - but from 04 Eng fully took over
it was a v good/top league, but nowhere near DOMINANT
Don't remember all this waffling when Serie A was dominating Europe in the 90s and early 00s.
Don't remember all this waffling when La Liga was dominating Europe in the late 00s and 10s.
But when it's Premier League clubs, it's non stop.
@VXerikos Uefa opened up more - so? The italian teams declined - PL teams were getting more consistently competitive. Utd, Leeds and Chelsea made semis by 04. 05-09 PL was incredibly dominant. This was coming. The results dont lie. Even financials started clearly shifting. Cope and seethe
@VXerikos "nobody thought" 1. not true. 2. CASUAL narrative does not always reflect reality
why we going back 10 years? 10 years ago (2016) the PL was not the best in the world. today it is. In the 21st century serie a was never close to dominant
@VXerikos ac milan was still great, as i said. 03 was an anomaly to the general trend. Calciopoli accelerated the decline and hurt the casual perception, but it started earlier. It was still an excellent league, maybe could argue the best (not at all imo) but it certainly wasn't dominant
