I have always said this because I have experienced it in my life and career.
You don't need the industry or circles to believe (or approve you) in you.
You just need that one person who will see your potential, spark or talent and you are blessed.
Viola Davis to Thuso Mbedu is the blessing I hope many in the creative industry get to have.
Anele Mdoda did this for me with Real Talk With Anele. It gave me the confidence to believe that I belong in the rooms I'm in. Never looked back after that.

"Where Is the Youth?" Lasizwe Challenges all CEO’s at the FNB Private (Wealth) Event
At FNB’s Private Wealth Series, entrepreneur and media personality Lasizwe Dambuza challenged a room of CEOs, executives and private sector leaders with one question: “Where are the youth in this room?”
During a discussion on South Africa’s economic future, Lasizwe questioned what the private sector is doing to intentionally empower the next generation not only through employment, but by investing in the media space, where culture is shaped, ideas are shared and millions of young South Africans are influenced every day.
“If we’re serious about building South Africa’s future, why aren’t young people in these rooms? And what is the private sector doing to strengthen the media ecosystem that educates, inspires and creates opportunities for the youth?”
His remarks sparked a broader conversation about representation, access and whether South Africa is truly preparing young people to lead or simply expecting them to inherit systems they were never invited to help build.
🇿🇦https://t.co/OpZ6a5F5xO As a data analyst and developer I created Mzansi's first grocery comparison site that helps consumers make price conscious decisions. I'm just struggling with marketing it out there, please share🙏🏾. We compare across Shoprite, pick n Pay, Woolworths etc.
I registered my ID on the Southern African Fraud Prevention Service (SAFPS) some time ago. Forgot about it till this week bc I wanted to open an account & the retailer called asking for my SAFPS ref number. They couldn’t activate the account without it. https://t.co/zF1pIE9Xut
Your daughter just got her first period.
Do not tell her she is a woman now.
Tell her what estrogen does.
Tell her what progesterone does.
Tell her her cycle has four phases and each one will feel different.
Give her information. Not a new identity.
A new website has been created to raise awareness and promote safety of women and children especially who are being targeted by ehailing drivers. You can search the drivers licence plate before travelling with them. Register and stay safe ! https://t.co/GZviUYFWPf
it is selfish to enter someone's life, see that they are a loving, cheerful, and good person, and decide to disrupt their peace because you have not dealt with your own issues. leave people alone if you have no intention of showing up with sincerity.
To all our foreigners brothers & sisters
If you have been found to be in possession of illegal papers and you have been deported or arrested.
Please post the picture of the government official or politicians that sold you those fraudulent papers. You have nothing to loose.
I was the first donor — I had to lead by example. 💪🏾
I’m not from Alex, but I’m calling on all South Africans to back this initiative. Our people in Alexandra are ready to take back their tuck shops and build real businesses for themselves and their families.
And remember we won’t stop in Alex !!
