( it stares. it breathes in an almost labored manner, staring with glassy eyes now just barely resembling dark eye-bags. of course, 'benji' isn't going to leave, now its got sights on someone else this time.
the more he doesn't move, the more it'll perfectly mimic him. )
[ Benjamin grimaced staring at something stealing his face, his voice. But he kept fighting for his life. He didn't know who would save them. Or save him. He was tired but he wasn't going to stop fighting. He was quite a pain in the ass, wasn't he? He was desperate to get out. ]
( its rather thin. almost too easy to break, if not for how easily creatures such as this can regenerate. but by this moment, its already has benjamin's face down... almost.
its stretched out to an almost eerie smile as if skin were akin to molded clay. )

- - lure the lieutenant out of hiding. just one more grip, and that boy is silenced for good.
or, well, the original. it's starting to take in every detail of him until its morphing into a ... "better version". )
( after some time, it does manage to repeat the very same insults, curses, swears and whatnot. features warp to resemble something barely akin to benjamin himself, but its not enough.
maybe it needs to replace him as well. there's no harm in doing so, and it would - -

He screamed out all the worst insults he could muster, most of them involving swearing, his remaining eye had that shine of rage in it, a shine of determination to win this unfair fight too. ]
( back to davis, it mimics. a cruel and almost terrifying way to see things through someone's last moments: a father that cared so deeply carved into a creature's distinguished features.
loud ... long laughter ensues as the grip gets tighter. tighter and tighter. )
[ Benjamin attempted to pry it's hand off his face, screaming and kicking. He was fighting, trying to find a weakness in this thing's grip. He was mortified.
He wasn't ready to die, not in his eyes at least. ]
( a loud crash, one made of splintered wood and all. it slowly stumbles backward; face twisted and deformed akin to clay. it stares ... and stares, but eventually resumes its approach.
a claw-like hand now grasps firmly on the artist's face, keeping him from moving. )
[ Benjamin held up his easel, he felt that pain of the past again, and he was ready to lash out. Sick of all the torture he was put through by these horrific beasts, he took a swing at the Unnamed Alternate. It was clear Benji wasn't going down without a fight. ]

as if also calling ... benjamin a failure. after all, he doomed himself for ever stepping foot into the rural ghost town.
it would've been better if he stayed home like a good boy. )
"FAILURE."
( its a raspy mix of old static and something barely resembling a human voice. heathcliff's appearance still shows itself; almost to remind the artist that what he defends might be the very reason why he'll be doomed in the first place.
it steps closer. closer.

"a-A BROKEN FATHE-Eer cANT TEND TO A BR-R-ROKEN SON... IF HE CAN'T TEND TO HIMSE-E-ELF."
( alluding to the officer's faliures. reminding the bluenette that nothing good lasts forever. )
( if a gun doesn't affect it, clearly a vase won't. a head cocks to the side, almost interested ... fascinated with how similar the boy is to his adoptive father.
scared. but almost determined to fight. lingering hope of survival almost diminishing as we speak. )

"I-I-I'LL ASSSSSSSK yyYOu again! WHAT D-D-DO YOU WANT FROM ME?"
( benjamin's voice echoes back from the alternate's now slowly deteriorating form of the lieutenant. now it grows in length, resembling a pale and malnourished creature looming over. laughing... cackling. )

cold wet eyes barely resembled the once despair-ridden yet hopeful green ones. what used to be a warm look now forms a crude ... inhuman grin obscured by disheveled dyed blonde locks. )
( alas, this thing wasn't aiming for benjamin. at least ... he wasn't an exact priority. but it isn't late to start calling benjamin a good victim in terms of luring the real davis out from his unconfirmed whereabouts.
a head turns around, snapping at 180 degrees.

"D...ES THIS MAN RESEMBLE ANYONE Y.... KNOW BY ANY CHA....CE...?"
( it's the lieutenant's voice, but ... drowned in static and pitched in a lower octave. )
( a brief moment passes, and it ... or rather 'he' doesn't move a muscle. nor does he seem to turn his head around towards his supposed child or towards any remote sounds; numb in the auditory sense as if deaf entirely.
yet it's still alive enough to stumble around. )

( it got inside. surprisingly, in a quiet manner that not many would suspect it'd make. no mimicry to fit a human-like appearance or scratching made by elongated claws almost fused into skin.
however, as it got inside, skin begins to mold and tear into one of its disguises. )
[ Benjamin was just walking around his house, having his reflection of how far he's gotten. For the big city to the cursed County that took an eye from him, he was so deep in thought that he's forgotten to lock the living room window, not realizing this let in @THATCHER_EFFECT. ]
