[Superteam Nigeria 🇳🇬 @SuperteamNG]

Last week felt like a true ‘call to build’ for Nigerian founders and developers, headlined by the announcement of a multi-million dollar global Solana hackathon powered by Colosseum. Almost immediately, builders in our local ecosystem shifted into overdrive.

Here are other news items you might have missed:

The next big global opportunity is here. @solana and @Colosseum announced the Solana Cypherpunk Hackathon, where Colosseum's fund will invest a staggering $2.5 million in the winning projects. To ensure local builders have a path to victory, SuperteamNG announced a dedicated Nigerian Side Track for the Cypherpunk Hackathon, featuring a $10,000 prize pool in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youth’s ‘Nigerian Youth Academy’ (@OfficialNiya_Ng).

The Nigerian community is already preparing for the hackathon, kicking things off with an IRL brainstorming session for founders in Lagos hosted by @SuperteamNG.

The story of what a single grant can become was told in a powerful thread by @Nwosu, detailing the journey of @ribhfinance from a $4k grant to $12M+ in bootstrapped payment volume.

For the third consecutive week, the influential @ntbts_news newsletter featured a Nigerian project, with @airbillspay taking the spotlight this time around.

Nigeria’s strength in payments was validated in the new ‘Stablecoin Evolution Report’ from @birdeye_so co-authored by @perena and @moonpay, which featured both @ribhfinance and @airbillspay as key players in the African market.

The international spotlight continues to shine on our founders, with @useazza and @ToochukwuOkoro featured as one of the ‘faces of global innovation’ in @SuperteamSG’s Ignition Season 4.

@JupNigeria introduced the JollofBoard, a new competitive arena and leaderboard for the nation’s top traders, complete with state-based squads and a Champions League prize pool.

A core pillar of Solana’s infrastructure has officially landed in Nigeria. @Jito_ng has launched to build a community, create opportunities, and position the country as a key player in the Jito MEV ecosystem.

The Devs Guild is activating for the hackathon, hosting IRL meetups for builders in Rivers, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Enugu, Bauchi, Akwa Ibom, Plateau, Adamawa and Cross River.

The Content Creators Guild is also expanding its IRL presence, with new hangouts taking place in Plateau, Ekiti, and Lagos.

The ecosystem’s daily show, @gmsolana_show, celebrated hitting 500 followers on their new X account. The successful 30-day credit giveaway partnership between @gmsolana_show and @airbillspay officially came to a close, with both teams celebrating the community engagement.

Leading pan-African Web3 media platform @theMariblock published a deep dive article on SuperteamNG’s community-led adoption strategy in Nigeria.

A new video from the SuperteamNG Pitch Clinic series has been released, featuring a session with @use_stream.

The first-ever SuperteamNG Football Cup was announced for Nov 1st in Abuja, pitting Devs vs. Creatives for a ₦1M prize, powered by @Clapmihq.

The list of #SolanaSummitAfrica sponsors grew again, with digital wallet @TheZabira joining to support the November event.

The summit’s speaker list also continues to impress, with Quicks (@solquicks) from @solflare announced as the latest addition.

And co-lead @Harri_obi was announced as a keynote speaker for the upcoming @blockfestafrica on October 11th.
