To be clear, there were a TON of reasons the @USMNT lost today—primarily that Belgium was way better in all facets.
But to have the man who is supposed to be the greatest player in the history of our country simply no-show in the biggest tournament of his life is just awful.
Notice how difficult it is for USA 🇺🇸 players to handle any difficult ball and how easily and calmly Belgium handles them.
Anytime I’ve sent a player overseas coaches comment on lack of technical and tactical ability.
It’s never lack of physicality
This has been the World Cup of stars carrying their teams.
Our alleged star got kicked in the calf, missed a game and a half, made almost zero impact outside of the first half of the first game, and then begged out in the biggest game of his career.
So utterly disappointing.
Pulisic skipped the Gold Cup—much to the dismay of many current & former teammates & his coach—to be “best ready” for the World Cup.
He then went 6 months without scoring before the World Cup & then in the 5 games of the World Cup he missed one & left two early with injury.
Coco Gauff’s reaction to reaching her 1st Wimbledon Quarterfinal just before curfew
She had 2 minutes to close it out before the match would be suspended.
Clutch. ⌚️😤
No, THANK YOU! Truly a honor to wear the 💜💛 while trying to continuing the greatness & legacies that came before me! Hope I made a few proud during my stint. 🙏🏾🫡👑
CC Sabathia says he gave up a $500,000 bonus to defend a teammate, but the Yankees paid him anyway
“They put a bonus in my contract, I think I needed like 140 innings to get 500 grand extra in my bonus. We go into Tampa, and I need six innings to get this bonus. I'm in the fourth inning, cruising. I'm getting this”
“Then they threw a ball up and in at my catcher, Austin Romine. I know baseball, so I knew that shit came from the bench. Because I threw a two-seamer in and hit Jake Bauers in the hand. So they made a big stink. They throw at Austin Romine. I come out of the dugout and I'm ready to go”
“Then everybody calms me back down. Gardy comes to me. He's like, ‘Bro, don't do it.’ And I was like, ‘Just be ready to fucking fight.’ That's all I told him. So their catcher comes up the next inning and I hit him with the first pitch. I wasn't mad at him. I was mad at the situation and who called it”
“I said what I said at their bench and I walked off. When I was walking off, in the moment, I was like, ‘Fuck, I don't know if I made the right decision.’ Then everybody came in after the game and they was all fired up. That was something where, in the moment, it was the right thing to do”
“It was just a snap decision. I was just trying to show this is how you take care of your teammates. My team was young. Luis Severino was in there. Judge was young. All those dudes were young. This is how you set the standard. Don't matter about the fucking money. You go and you do what you got to do for your teammates and everything else will work out. Hal called me the next day and paid me my bonus”

Thierry Henry admitting that he was moved and emotional after hearing the U.S. fans sing the national anthem ahead of their match against Paraguay, and then seeing the performance 🇺🇸🥹❤️
🚨🗣️New: Thierry Henry reacts to the USA vs Paraguay stoppage for TV commercials:
“I’ve spent my entire life in this beautiful game — as a player at the highest level, as a fan, and now as someone who analyses it every week — and what unfolded during that USA versus Paraguay match left me deeply frustrated. The fourth official standing there on the touchline, arm raised high, instructing the referee to hold the restart… not for any injury, not for tactical reasons, and not even primarily for player hydration in that scorching heat. No. It was because the broadcast team hadn’t finished airing all their commercials. That’s not football. That’s a television show pretending to be a World Cup match.
The beautiful game is being strangled by greed. Players are out there in the heat, ready to restart, momentum building like a storm about to break — and we pause everything so the sponsors can cash in. It’s like stopping a symphony mid-crescendo because the advertisers want their jingle heard. Football didn’t conquer the world by turning into American sports with endless timeouts and ad breaks. We had rhythm, flow, emotion that flowed like a river. Now? It’s dammed up for dollars.
This isn’t about hydration or player welfare anymore — it’s a slippery slope where the soul of the game is sold piece by piece. Fans deserve better. Players deserve better. The referee on that pitch looked like a puppet on strings controlled from some broadcast truck. Enough is enough. We need to protect what made this sport the greatest on Earth before it disappears completely.”
The World Cup should be football’s cathedral. Instead, we’re turning it into a shopping mall with a pitch in the middle.
And here’s the question nobody wants to answer: if the fourth official is waiting for commercials, then who is really running the game? FIFA? The referee? Or the broadcasters?
Because the moment football starts asking advertisers for permission before asking the players, you’ve crossed a line.
The World Cup is supposed to be the showcase of football. Not the showcase of who paid the most for airtime.”
So proud of Folarin Balogun … two goals in the opening game of the World Cup.
I’ve been working with Flo for several years now. I know how much this means to him. If this guy has been putting everything into this moment… This is what Elite level Striker play looks like!
