Do not send any bitcoin to this account!
I just got off the phone with @EA_Rice. He was hacked.
This scammer will reach out to you and tell you to send him Bitcoin and he'll send you the laptop.
Too-good-to-be-true usually is
A small group of BIP-110 proponents want to "fire the miners" to restart the Bitcoin mining game.
Their SOFT-fork proposal failed.
So plan B is to go officially go HARD.
They argue the larger mining corporations and pools ignored their proposed rule changes👇
Some Bitcoin nodes will begin enforcing different rules due to BIP-110
🚨Warning!
When there's a chain split, Bitcoin can diverge into two separate chains.
It's as if a parallel universe opens up and you now live in both worlds.
Your entire history is identical in both
"Hey miners, flip the bit!"
What does that actually mean?
Every Bitcoin block has 32 "parking spaces" in its header (the version field).
In each space, a miner can paint either a O or a 1.
The first three spaces are already fixed forever as:

You all know him.
Solid Bitcoin educator.
Been here a long time.
You've enjoyed his posts.
But he was scammed by Coldcard.
Not Bitcoin. And not self-custody.
It think he took advantage of the bear market back in 2022.
Coldcard "never retains your personal information."
This was supposedly another benefit of this device.
This is why they said they couldn't contact Bitcoin customers when this exploit happened 4 days ago.
But now (4 days too late!!) they are suddenly emailing everyone
I've been pounding the table for close to 10 years now on the importance of a multi-signature setup for your Bitcoin.
Videos, articles, posts, books.
Many of us can't verify everything. So we have to DISTRIBUTE the trust to MINIMIZE it.
I believe multi-sig achieves that.
Devastating.
4,312 Bitcoin addresses wiped as of this post.
Here's 280 of the highest balance addresses so far (in orange) and the exact time and block they were stolen from.
At this point, consider any Bitcoin key you created with a COLDCARD to be exposed.
Even if you used a passphrase, and even if you rolled dice, I still wouldn't feel comfortable, knowing there are hackers attempting this low entropy attack.
"What is needed is an electronic payment system based on cryptographic proof instead of trust (as long as that cryptography has sufficient entropy because you rolled your own dice)"
- Satoshi Nakamoto, Halloween 2008
Check out these two Bitcoin seed phrases: (a general lesson in entropy)
SEED A:
ocean tiger silver dance pigeon melody crystal rocket amber jungle violin sunset.
Now check out this one:
SEED B:
garden mirror silent canyon river melody crystal rocket amber jungle violin sunset
Out of an abundance of caution (and clarity if my fast post was murky)
Regardless of your set-up... if you generated your seed phrase(s) from ColdCard's automatic generator on an Mk2, Mk3, Mk4, you are at risk.
Locked UTXOs that can only be spent in the future are not at risk
If you time-lock your Bitcoin, you're safe.
If you multi-sig your Bitcoin, you're safe.
If you single-sig your Bitcoin, you are at risk IF you can say YES
