“Seattle Daycares Collect $40K–$70K a Month. Neighbors Say They Never See the Kids”

Katie Daviscourt knocked on Somali-run home daycares in Seattle. Doors stayed shut. When someone answered, they got hostile. Neighbors said they have never seen children at addresses pulling taxpayer childcare money.

That is not a rumor. That is her reporting. Public records she cited put some of these houses at $40,000 to $70,000 a month. One site she flagged had taken nearly $2 million. In two neighborhoods she counted more than $5 million in payments and more than 20 listed locations.

Minnesota already proved the model: bill the state for kids who are not there. Seattle looks like the same playbook until an auditor proves otherwise. A midday visit is not a conviction. An unanswered door is not a courtroom. It is enough to freeze the fat checks and match every dollar to a real child.

This is supposed to be childcare. Empty houses and slammed doors are not childcare. Blue cities that will not ask who is in the building will keep writing the checks. Audit every provider.
Publish the rosters. Cut off anyone who cannot show the kids.

Truth first. Then the arrests, if the books are as empty as the yards.
