@mehowbrains@THORChain this would be a good idea AFTER the chain is back up and has not been compromised for at least 3-6 months. people are scared any money given will just be immediately hacked.
@THORmaximalist@THORChain when you look 10 years out, how much system income do you see THORChain making? and how much would each individual node operator make per year from that?
@AkuRypto@THORChain it's very confusing how much was lost total in the attack + after-effects. i'm still seeing differing estimates and i'm still not totally sure.
Speaking of crypto, Monday's Odd Lots guest is @tomhschmidt who has the clearest answer yet of what DeFi is actually *for*. Also he was able to ELI5 Impermanent Loss to me. 45 minutes worth of pure alpha. Don't miss it. https://t.co/b6BxrPEOxQ
@0xSisyphus disagree. unlike last cycle, new deals are much smaller and allocations are scarce. any new money coming in will not have access to new dealflow and just buy the top of projects in each category.
@CBarraford@THORChain i understand your point. i think it would go a long way to tell the community that the team will stick with the project past Planned Obsolescence 2022, maybe until 2023 or until it is hardened.
It's been an emotional day for THORChads. 8% of the treasury stolen. Is there any upside? I think so.
1) No more debate over solvency checker. Ship it!
2) Hired Halborn secruity team of 6 to white-hack every update
3) Maybe "Planned Obsolenscene" of team can be pushed to 2023
An automatic-solvency checker was queued for imminent release, it's unfortunate timing.
This would have halted the network in the first few minutes of the attack.
Onwards
@0xSisyphus in order to increase DAUs they need a lot of infrastructure, as it costs $1,200 just to buy 3 axies and start playing. need to figure out how renting/sponsoring new players can become frictionless
@thePalenimbus@tomhschmidt wait, i'm confused. so CT is bullish on social tokens as a use case for crypto. but when a YouTuber launches a social token, CT cheers for jail time?
