How old were u, when you realise, severally is not an adverb of several.

Like we’ve heard people say, I’ve washed it severally, the stain still remained.

Well ur lexical combination may be right, bcos severally means, separate times…so it means you wash the cloth at separate time, but the stain remained.

But we both know what u actually meant was you washed it several times, like many times.

Example of correct usage would be…The data was gifted severally to the beneficiaries…

You may get away with wrongly using it bcos it works, but etymologically its wrong…

It’s best to know the proper use of terminology before applying it.
