Check out this fantastic new project! Students use CAD to design their own keyring/pendant. The mould is cut out using the laser cutter and we cast them using pewter. Thanks to the PSS for funding the pewter casting set. These are L42P's designs.
Y6 have been working on a project which uses scrap wood in their Design lessons. Inspired by the work of @KirstyElson who creates driftwood sculptures. The girls have all made an individual seaside town using wood that we rescued from the skip. Fantastic work! @TalbotHeathSch
4M from our Junior School have created some fabulous #Picasso portraits using recycled materials. Super impressive, well done to you all, thank you for sharing Mrs Heath ππ¨ποΈ

Daisy designed & made an automatic robot dog walker/feeder. She created a remote control vehicle and then designed a shaker which dropped a dog biscuit at regular intervals encouraging the dog to follow behind- walking and feeding at the same time! Do we have a future inventor!
Mr Morris set a task for Y6 to design a new roller coaster. Izzy created her own virtual 3D version using #Minecraft then put it into a brilliantly edited video where she talks about the 2 different versions & compares them. Short version here #THSchRemoteLearning#THSchLD3
In their Design lessons, #THSchY6 have been making street scenes using scrap wood. They thought about the kinds of things that can be made using wood destined for the rubbish bin. Some created coastal village scenes whilst others started their Christmas decorations early!
#THSchY6 students were given a flat pack box and challenged to use their programming and designing skills to create a product that used motors and LEDs. #THSchDesign
Inspired by Mrs Hollowayβs challenge in last weekβs assembly to create social distancing designs, girls in Junior school have been coming up with their own inventions. Here a few ways to help people keep their distance!

Y5 & 6 were set a task in the Easter holidays to make a new basket for the Easter bunny. They had to think about measuring, joining, strength etc. (These are only a few examples, sorry to all the students who were left out- they were all great designs!) #THSchRemoteLearning
Sink or swim!? Mr Cradick and Mr Dobree-Carey spotted testing the raft for the forthcoming Year 6 D-Day Landings interdisciplinary event! How noble of them to submerge themselves before the pupils turn! All in a days work at TH! #THSchInterdisciplinary
Interdisciplinary lesson between Science and Design. Looking at material properties and welding. Students welded chocolate structures before testing them to destruction. Some really successful welding and very strong structures! #THSchInterdisciplinary#THSchScience#THSchDesign
#THSchY2 working with electro-dough (play dough that conducts an electric current!) How exciting is that!? @THSch_JuniorTec @THSch_PrePrep@THSch_Junior
Fascinating joint Design and Computing trip to @Siemens The girls learned how most of the traffic lights in the UK are designed and made in #Poole. They had a go at different activities including coding their own lights sequence. #SteamEducation#WomenInSTEM#WomenInTech
Ready, aim, fire! U4 students #THSchY9 took part in an interdisciplinary lesson combining Classics and Design #THSchinterdisciplinary#THSchclassics. They looked at Roman engineering and had to design and make their own Roman Onager to fire a paper missile the farthest distance.
