Today in computing Elm Class went on a minibeast hunt! We recorded our data in a tally chart and then used the computers to turn the tally chart into a pictogram. 🐞🦟
Elm Class, have started learning different techniques to prepare fruit and vegetables for our Princes Picnic. Elm Class learnt how to use the ‘claw’ and ‘bridge’ technique to slice and dice apples and carrots. @TownvilleIS
Last week, Elm Class began investigating ‘What does a plant need to germinate?’. Today, we began writing our cress diaries. We have observed which conditions the cress will grow best in. @TownvilleIS
Elm Class had a wonderful world book day! We retold the traditional tale ‘The Three Billy Gots Gruff’ after making some masks. Elm Class really enjoyed their World Book Day Breakfast and enjoyed our reader identity challenge. What a fabulous day! @TownvilleIS
Today year 2 started our ‘Princes Picnic‘ topic in DT. They worked collaboratively to sort food into different groups. Year 2 worked to discuss where food came from. @TownvilleIS
Year 2 had a lovely visit to Airedale library this afternoon. They chose their own book to read and they listened to a story read by Miss Evans 🤩 @TownvilleIS
Last week, children in KS1 celebrated ‘Mental Health Week’ and they discussed the theme belonging. Children drew their own belonging islands and participated in a welcome circle during class assembly. 🧠@TownvilleIS
