Well-known and well-liked Eastern Kentucky Democrat Rocky Adkins is preparing to announce his second bid for governor next week. In 2019, Rocky ran a pretty close second to Andy Beshear, winning more counties (67 out of 120) than Beshear, but still falling short about 6 1/4

ineligible to vote from him in a Democratic Primary under Kentucky's closed primary voting laws. This poses a significant hurdle to Rocky's 2027 campaign versus Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman. The race will quickly become a fundraising battle between the two, and could test 3/4

points overall statewide. Of those 67 counties carried by Rocky in 2019, the bulk of them (48) have now shifted from majority Democratic to majority Republican in their voter registration. This means that a significant chunk of Rocky's vote has sailed away across party lines, 2/4
