@spacanpanman It's my understanding that Starlink D2D does not currently support 800 Mhz, butt AST Block 2 does? So the 800 Mhz for drone reference would be Ast specifically, yes?
$ASTS: SpaceX today said that it will build out a terrestrial network and compete directly against AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile
T-Mobile joining AT&T and Verizon working w/ AST SpaceMobile is fait accompli
@Jeff183848@spacanpanman I believe we had secured 3 launches, minimum this year with SpaceX. So probably one more with them, at least.
I would expect Mitsubishi launch after J-Leo deal, now too.
@benterest@Spaceateer@spacanpanman Joint Venture in Europe with AST against Starlink.
Joint Venture in the USA against Starlink
AST wins J-Leo because Japan doesn't trust Starlink with it's sovereignty
This is a growing concern of nations, because of Starlink having the ability to spy on the partner nations
@nasjacked420@Grimpler9@peter_adderton@SpaceX@Starlink AST works with the MNOs through a seamless hand-off, making their service one with the MNOs.
This fixing the dead spot issues, extends coverage to the earth and does it seamlessly with existing carriers whom allow the sharing of their spectrum with AST, which they possess
@spaceswimmin@Puffery69@CatSE___ApeX___ Stop offering the service to customers that don't already have it**
The least friction possible for customers without continuing to offer them to a competitor
@spaceswimmin@Puffery69@CatSE___ApeX___ I would assume that the T satellite service could continue to with existing customers, but likely stop offering the service until AST has a beta.
I can't see them continuing offering customers a service that plans to directly compete.
@AshDom12@scott_m_powell Hear me out, we ship 11-13 and launch - end of July
We Ship 14-16 and Launch end of August -
And then what? January for BO? They will be stock-piling these birds in a warehouse.
@Rocky75617794@Dcg321@scott_m_powell The only viable partner blew-up and won't be online for us to use until January. - As their first launches in December won't be us.
The other options you are mentioning, Centaur, Arianne 9, ISRO - rarely launch, have little capacity and no confirmation if we've even reserved
@mastmilu@scott_m_powell are you not following? We know this already. They have lowered the satellite number to ~25 ish in the air by EOY. This is what management reported to Analyst, William Blair, weeks ago - Following the BO Disaster.
This is pretty widely known.
@ChartBreakouts You are absolutely wrong. They report tomorrow. You referenced Last year's numbers. an EPS of .61 would be a huge miss off the current expectation.
@spacanpanman Can someone answer this for me?
Did you notice in the video that they said, "Production pace to allow a launch every 1-2 months on average." or some wording along those lines. Would that not imply that they are on pace to complete 1.5-3 satellites a month?
