Parker Messick has been the best pitcher in baseball at shutting down the running game this season with 5 Bases Prevented. Kai-Wei Teng and Will Warren are doing the same damage. Runners have nowhere to go against these three.
-Bryan Woo, Trey Yesavage, Parker Messick, and Roki Sasaki take the mound

Play Ball Weekend starts today!
Parker Messick joins Stephen Strasburg & Paul Skenes as the only pitchers since 1913 with these stats through their first 18 career starts:
⚾2.50 ERA or lower
⚾100+ strikeouts
⚾Under 30 walks
That seems pretty good.

Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report ranks Parker Messick No. 3 among MLB rookies, highlighting his strong start, elite changeup, and underlying metrics that point toward sustained success and potential All-Star upside.
"After logging a 2.72 ERA in 39.2 innings over seven starts last season, Messick still had to win a spot in the Opening Day rotation this spring. Now he looks like a legitimate All-Star candidate, and his 3.02 FIP and an elite 44.7 percent whiff rate on his changeup both point to sustainable success."

There's a new advanced metric sweeping the Guardians' clubhouse. It's called "xDAWG." Three of the players thriving in that category are rookies.

Parker Messick said striking out Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in a huge moment against the Phillies felt like a dream come true, calling it one of the coolest moments of his baseball career.
“When you have runners in scoring position and you have [Kyle] Schwarber and Harper at the plate, that’s like every kid’s dream growing up. They’re such studs, All-Stars, such good players. When you have the ability to punch someone out like that, I never do it to show anyone up, I didn’t even look at him. I just yelled at myself coming off the mound," Messick said. "It’s every kid’s dream to get out of a situation like that. Just a cool moment for me.”

Paul Skenes. Stephen Strasburg. Parker Messick. 🤯
“It’s been a fun stretch we just gotta keep it going”
These last 14 games, it’s hard to find anyone in baseball hotter than the Cleveland #Guardians. I caught up with Parker Messick and Brayan Rocchio ahead of their series vs the Nationals
