Michele Fiore raised $70,000 to build a statue for a Las Vegas cop killed in the line of duty. She spent it on cosmetic surgery, her rent, and her daughter’s wedding. A jury convicted her in two hours. Trump pardoned her before she was ever sentenced.
Dunno how to say this without sounding hyperbolic, but this stuff is profoundly corrosive to the country's stability. Purposefully lying about something so crucially important indicates deep rot.
@Steelers4evr Noted. I think we probably agree it’s fine for her to be away immediately after giving birth- politicians, men included, can recover from major medical events. Disagree with the “employee” classification but that may be semantics at the moment. Looking forward to the specifics.
@Steelers4evr@colin_dunlap Cynicism is fine and I’m not naive to special privileges existing (and are a scourge), but I also think not showing up for 4 months contrary to law would be much larger than a special privilege. Courts have stopped Trump many times and they would stop an exec easily in this case.
@Steelers4evr@colin_dunlap Maybe at first glance but far less likely after a moment of review. Colin should have used his platform to inform, not speculate.
@Amanda_Lynn7029 @colin_dunlap I doubt she is eligible:
1) PA law excludes electeds from the state’s legal definition of employee, see photo. (P.L.563,No. 195). Doubt county could preempt PA law.
2) The proposed county rule explicitly lists many types of employees eligible and does not mention electeds.

@Amanda_Lynn7029 @colin_dunlap I didn’t say he besmirched her appearance in the post. I said he laid the groundwork for his followers to do so. And secondly, he’s not a journalist.
