Screenwriter/Novelist | Horror/Fantasy
I write like Hitchcock had a baby with Tolkien, on heavy duty LSD. Subscribe to my substack for weekly #horror stories
The single most important thing for becoming a successful writer/screenwriter/artist (of any kind) is being able to put in the work every day, regardless of motivation.
Motivation is fleeting. You can't rely on it. #Writing requires time and dedication.

I've been thinking about how to round out my portfolio of #horror screenplays and realized I'm missing a TV pilot!
With streaming services dominating, TV is King. They say every #screenwriter should have a pilot in their repertoire.
What are your favorite horror TV series?

@Korol_rezni5ive I feel the same way. It was the first movie in at least a decade that made me say, "this is why I want to write horror".
Really an excellent film.
The highest rated #HorrorMovies on Rotten Tomatoes (critics, not audience)in 2023 is Huesera: The Bone Woman. I watched it last night.
The characterization is great. In terms of horror, it leans more into drama than scares. It could have used more scary moments.
However...
I am SO GRATEFUL and shaking with excitement to be participating in this year's @killershorts competition.
My script "Hoarder" won a free entry into the contest!

Hey #WritingCommunity and self-pub authors.
What do you guys make of social platforms like Wattpad, Inkful, Commaful, Royal Road, etc.
Are these still useful tools for building up an audience / getting feedback on your writing?
Or is it better to just start publishing on KDP?

Only 6 #HorrorMovies have been nominated for Best Picture (and 2 of them aren't really horror)
The Exorcist (1973)
Jaws (1975)
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Black Swan (2010)
Get out (2017)
Which one do you think is the best?

Can a #screenwriter be as prolific as @StephenKing ? (a thread)
When asked by George RR Martin how he writes so quickly, Stephen King stated that he aims to get 6 pages a day.
That means he can complete a 360-page manuscript for a novel in about 2 months.
