@_callumfowler The LeBron meme and him initially being overrated by Americans has actually made Pulisic quite underrated. Borderline top 10 winger in the
world when fit.
@JakeM087@fadehargrove@AmarVijh999@henrywinter Take you about 12 seconds on Google to realise how false this is, not a single Asian country comes close to the US in tourism. Only Spain and France get more foreign tourists.
The implication is that you’re supposed to attribute the actions of the US government to the USMNT. However, you aren’t supposed to do the same for any other nation.
When Venezuelans, Iranians, Turks, Moroccans, Georgians, Argentinians, English national teams play, they are seen as a celebration of their people despite mass dissent towards their political leadership. They are not viewed as an extension of the regime even when leaders have tried to cleanse their image by attaching themselves to these teams.
When the US plays, the national team is seen through the lens of our President and his political decisions, regardless of party and regime. It’s a ridiculous double standard only applied to the US because we are the hegemon. Resist this stupidity regardless of how much you despise the President, brother 🇺🇸🇨🇴
We’re fine if we make the bullpen + Catcher acquisitions we need at the deadline. If Judge misses ~ 70 games and we can go, let’s say 37-33 in that time, that puts us at 74-58. 91 win pace, and with Fried, Judge, Stanton back + deadline acquisitions — 94-95 wins is more likely. That gets us the 2 seed and a bye at minimum. Just get healthy.
@mikitaposts Retard who thought being anti-CCP, anti-Islamism, and pro-controlled borders meant his only political home was MAGA. He made this decision at precisely the moment Trump’s approval rating began to tank.
Just sent a text saying the exact same thing.
It begs the question: is there a single notable American alive who, with enough charisma, candor and penitence; the right social media strategy; and an effective counterpunch against their checkered past, doesn’t have a legitimate path to office?
@Chris_NYY28 MLB managers conveying medical diagnoses to beat writers, neither of whom knows anything about the diagnosis being discussed, will never fail to make me laugh. Just have a doctor type up a report approved by the team, why make Boone struggle through an explanation lol.
@MissKG86 Agree with the sentiment in general, but Jamie and Micah played for Liverpool and City respectively for over a decade. Mad to suggest they can’t support those clubs.
Turning down good content of Smokes vs Hank because you need to put your boy on yet another Barstool show that he wouldn’t add anything to is insane. I know you value loyalty but content is content.
May as well write it into everyone’s contract that if a show gets a certain number of viewers, Hank is legally allowed to be a part of it if he so chooses. And their desks can be moved at will.
@rodrijames391@DaMidgetZimbo Fans will always be inconsistent in this way. I’m just saying — do you actually want commentators to be biased in favor of Arsenal? If Spurs are playing poorly I’d much rather them just be honest, does my head in when they try to protect the club/league.
I know I’m in the minority but I’ve never understood the appeal of the vast majority of 1 hit bit characters throughout PMT history. Felt the same about Jake and Billy, but there’s always a section of fans that worship them until the bit runs thin. I don’t get it.
As others have said, pretending to be on the spectrum and producing the same comments with the same cadence over and over is not unique or funny.
I also don’t get the relationship Big Cat inevitably forms with the bit characters/others either. They’re never normal side characters with consistent but situational appeals. He seems to fall head over heels with them, laughs hysterically at everything they say, until it the well runs dry and they’re gone.
@SebOnFootball I can justify some of these cheaper options as astute depth signings but when all of your targets are older, cheaper players it no longer appears that way
This is why trying to compare great athletes across sports is so silly.
Tiger Woods would fall over himself trying to dribble through defenders and finish top bins like Messi.
Messi wouldn’t be able to hit a ball with a broken back at 43, let alone win the Masters.
And both of them would pass out before getting to 10 takeaway orders in 30 secs, let alone 40 like Big John.
@tehTrunk Reminded me precisely of Lloris in the 2022 World Cup final. Could have faced 100 pens and he wasn’t getting near one of them. Only thing Arsenal had to do was keep it on frame and they failed to do it. Thank God.
Both are obviously elite but (relatively speaking) there’s still a version of our lineup that can struggle at times with how much volatility we have 6-9.
If fully healthy, I don’t see a world where a 4 man rotation of Cole-Schlittler-Fried-Rodon isn’t borderline unstoppable.
Cole looks as good as ever, Schlittler is Cy Young favorite, Fried was 4th in Cy Young voting last year, and 6 pitch Rodon (6th in Cy Young voting last year) as a 4th starter is stupid.
You need some ability to make line breaking passes to break down teams like Paraguay and Australia when we have a lot of the ball. We can afford to play Ream in those games as long as we play a back 5. I’d be much more hesitant to start him against better teams with pace on the wings though.
Weston can sit, he’ll be the other side of the pivot. I think we looked really good with Pepi (or Balogun) and Pulisic playing a bit more advanced almost as a 2 and Gio playing off of them to drop in in build up. So that would be a front “3” of Pulisic-Balogun-Gio and then Adams-Mckennie in midfield. Though Tillman for Gio is fine and against superior opponents you probably start Weah to better counterattack.
Having said that I know Poch probably won’t drop Balogun, but Pepi looked incredible in our buildup in the first half. I haven’t seen a striker free up our wingers that much in a long time. Balogun is the better finisher (except aerially) but I might start Pepi for how much more fluid we looked with him overall.
