@ByuSome I think that the NIL era has been the biggest help to BYU. Without NIL, BYU would still struggle to attract top talent because of the honor code. I do think both programs are neck and neck right now. My guess is that the winner of the holy war will go to the b12 title game again.
@Dash2yb@CodyC64@TexasTechFB@TexasTech I don’t think every school would, but I think you’re right, many schools would have done the same. And they would deserve the same criticism that Tech had gotten.
@maxstephenson5@CodyC64@TexasTechFB@TexasTech Doesn’t matter that he didn’t play. If a company hires a new employee that committed felonies at the their previous job, they should not employ that person. Even if they’re a very valuable addition to the company.
@broadwayshuff Here’s what you’re missing: The kid broke the rules, which Tech knows, and they don’t care. That’s the problem. It sets a dangerous precedent that a kid can break the rules and easily get away with it. That’s what you’re missing. Pretty simple.
@BrennanBaxt Here’s what Tech is doing wrong: They’re pushing for Sorsby to play on the field when they know he shouldn’t. He committed the cardinal sin in the sports world and should not play. Tech knows he broke the rules. But they don’t care. Thats why people are upset with Tech.
@Big12Enthusiast @ChanceMock No, those other teams should stand up to that crap as well. Saying “well, no other team does the right thing, so we don’t have to either” is a pretty poor response. It suggests that Tech lacks integrity and good moral character as an organization.
@wreckemtime My criticism of Tech is that they have the opportunity to do the right thing here and aren’t doing it. It’s suggesting that they have some messed up priorities.
@DrunkRedRaider Yes, drugs, violence, etc are obviously very wrong. But, none of them compromise the integrity of competition in college football like gambling does. Sosrby gambling and being allowed to play opens the door. That’s where the outrage is coming from.
Tech has the opportunity to correct this before irreparable damage is caused to the integrity of the sport. They should stand up for the good of CFB and not let Sorsby play. That would go a tremendously long way in solving this problem. But they won’t do it.
@Boomer0002@HeavensFX@dimpledwonder Because Tech is supporting this, even though they know how detrimental this is to CFB. They care more about the success of a single season than they do about the severe damage they are complicit in causing to the sport. That’s why people are hating on Tech.
