The decision to split up Central-Tuscaloosa into three schools severely limited football in the city of Tuscaloosa.
There are three private schools less than 5 miles from Central. If there was one or even two school split the programs would be top in the state.
It was predictable that the BIG 10 would be more competitive in this era of college football. Larger alumni bases and more billionaire funders tilt the economic balance in their favor.
The reasons for past SEC dominance are unchanged. There is still more talent ( check NFL rosters) in the Southeast and a more intense football culture from Pop Warner through college.
The difference is that the largest coffers reside elsewhere and most independent contractors (players) will accept positions in places where they are most compensated.
*There’s a lazy narrative that SEC programs have been playing players millions and now everyone else can too. Incorrect and dishonest
College football was always meant to be a regional sport. That's what made it so popular. Playing schools in close proximity and developing rivalries, moments, and games that are talked about for generations.

Uuuuugh. . . I think u have to post some Bible verses first, then you whore yourself out to the people who actually do all the recruiting, and then when those guys finally transfer to your school you can have plausible deniability and win a character in coaching award.
Call me crazy BUT middle school athletes training at 530 am before school and then training again at 330 pm then going to practice and special conditioning is a recipe for disastrous injuries and hate for sports.
Burn out is real. I can’t believe the schedule one of my 12 YO hockey athletes has. This kid is going to need 6,000 kcal at this rate and I’m not sure he even has time to eat the meals let alone be a kid, get his homework done, and have time to think.
Training at the youth level is getting out of control. I played multiple sports my entire life, college athlete, and still train competitively today. A big part of being healthy is rest and recovery. Both of which middle school and high school athletes aren’t getting enough of lately.
Kids need to be kids. NIL deals for youth athletes is also a terrible idea. These are human beings not pawns to make money off of. My two cents and take on the matter ✌️ ️
