Jack’s changes reflect the change of direction in Tekken 8 overall. He's always been a defensively inclined character who boxes out opponents with his enormous range, but changes to key moves like the Jackhammer shift him towards a more aggressive style.

Yoshimitsu is one of Tekken’s most freeform characters. His toolkit is geared towards lulling the opponent into a false sense of security before catching them off guard. Yoshi's new moves really emphasize his prowess as both a sword master and trickster.

Coldly methodical yet brutally savage at the same time, Bryan rewards players that take their time to condition opponents.
If you’re a patient player who wants to play the long game for big damage, then the undead cyborg might just satisfy your hunger.

King meshes really well with the system in Tekken 8. Throws being innately stronger is of course going to favour a grappler. Not only that, the cat man is also absurdly powerful when in heat 😻

Dragunov has it all. He meshes incredibly well with the Tekken 8 system, has a simple gameplan and absurd damage output to boot.

The developers clearly knew Hwoarang would be a menace when heated up and balanced around that as a defining factor.
If the idea of a hyper aggressive, highly dynamic character sounds fun to you, then hitch a ride with Hwoarang.

Despite having defined strengths and weaknesses, Steve is still a very versatile character. A swarmer, slugger, out-boxer, and counter-puncher all rolled into one, if you’re a fan of the sweet-science, then glove up with the guv 🥊

For a new character, Reina is incredibly fleshed out and complete. It's too early to assess right now just how competitive she is.
Clearly a labor of love for the development team, we can't wait to see what purple lightning is capable of.

While Devil Jin's new tools are very powerful, don’t let the devil tempt you, as leaning too heavily into them will get you severely punished.
Playing Devil Jin is going to mean treading a delicate balance between solid fundamentals and going wild.

Kazuya and Jin are in some ways exactly the same, in others complete opposites. That’s just family.
Unlike his son Kazuya has very defined strengths and weaknesses. His weak pokes means he lacks stability, but he makes up for it with sheer explosiveness.

Perfect for beginners and masters alike, merging legacy fundamentals with modern accessibility, Jin encapsulates Tekken. A stable, steady and very strong choice at any level of play.
