My next highlighted game of the WI Playmakers Ball Till You Fall Showcase was a fun matchup between the Midwest Renegades P32 and Hoop Habits 17U. From the opening tip, both teams brought energy, toughness, and a competitive edge that made this one entertaining from start to finish.
In a high-scoring first half, the Renegades found themselves in a tremendous rhythm and raced out to a 43-33 halftime lead. Leading the charge was #22 @Nick_brzezniak, who combined size, skill, and strength to create matchup problems all over the floor. Whether he was scoring around the basket, attacking defenders, or battling on the boards, he seemed to make an impact every time down the floor. For Hoop Habits, it was #12 @McpipeRy doing everything he could to keep his team within striking distance. He exploded for 20 first-half points and carried much of the offensive load as his team searched for answers.
The second half turned into a battle of wills as Hoop Habits made push after push in an attempt to erase the deficit. Every time it looked like the Renegades might create breathing room, Hoop Habits answered with another run. Both teams brought heart, toughness, and grit, refusing to back down as the intensity continued to rise throughout the final two quarters.
In the end, the Renegades were simply more determined not to let this one slip away. They stayed composed, made key plays when it mattered most, and held on for a hard-fought 69-65 victory. The Renegades were led by #22 @Nick_brzezniak, who finished with 21 points and was a constant problem for the defense throughout the game. Teammate #10 @TroyJarrett.10 added 16 points and came up huge down the stretch with several timely plays that helped seal the win.
Hoop Habits was led by the spectacular play of #12 @RylanMcPipe, who finished with a game-high 29 points while adding 4 assists. Time and time again, he answered the call, keeping his team in striking distance and making this one a battle until the final buzzer.
Another solid weekend for @HoopHabitsMN 17 UA. 4-1. Excited for these guys to get out in June on their visits and to some elite camps. Then we hit the road for one last July together. Crazy how quick the time goes.
Overall record sits at 21-5 on the summer
My second highlighted game of the WI Playmakers Ball Till You Fall Showcase was a fierce battle between @WIPlaymakers 17U and Hoop Habbits Elite. From the opening tip, this one had the feel of a heavyweight fight with neither team willing to give an inch. Every possession was contested, every rebound was fought for, and every run was answered by the other side.
The first quarter was a back-and-forth slugfest as both teams traded baskets and momentum swings. WI Playmakers managed to grab a slim 19-17 lead after one, but it was clear this game was far from settled. The intensity only grew in the second quarter as Hoop Habbits Elite found a spark behind the hot hand of #12 Ryan McPipe. He was nearly impossible to slow down, attacking from all angles and consistently finding ways to score. His strong play helped Hoop Habbits take a 42-38 lead into halftime.
WI Playmakers came out of the half with a different level of energy. They tightened up defensively, attacked the boards, and began turning stops into offense. The momentum slowly shifted as they pieced together a strong third quarter run. By the end of the period, the Playmakers had battled their way back in front and carried a 58-54 advantage into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter was all heart, toughness, and determination. Every basket seemed to be answered by another. Every stop felt critical. Down the stretch, it became a true battle of wills as both teams exchanged big shots and clutch plays. Neither side backed down, but Playmakers found just enough answers in the closing moments to protect their lead and escape with a hard-fought 71-68 victory.
Playmakers 17U was led by #13 Trevor Robert, who turned in a monster double-double with 19 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. He gobbled up boards like candy, made winning plays, and provided a steady presence throughout the game. Teammate #5 @gavin_czruxer added 14 points and 1 steal, while #11 @RanSomD_10 matched that with 13 points, adding 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in a strong all-around effort.
Hoop Habbits Elite was led by the outstanding play of #12 Ryan McPipe, who poured in 23 points and kept his team within striking distance all afternoon. Teammate #6 @Kendyn_Grant added 14 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal, while #1 @MatiasTrpuet1 finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block.
This was the kind of game that showcased everything great about grassroots basketball. Physical play, relentless effort, momentum swings, and players stepping up when their teams needed them most. Both teams left everything on the floor, but WI Playmakers made just enough winning plays down the stretch to secure an impressive three-point victory.
Rylan McPipe was going at his defender every time he touched the ball today. The unsigned 2026 guard is relentless attacking and creating scoring opportunities for himself and teammates.
