Welcome to the Lions Make Me Drink podcast. This is a different kind of Detroit sports podcast, tailored for diehard fans who share the pain of the Lions.
@ROTL_UK This will be a tough one minus the matchup. Let’s not forget clear bias from NFL refs as a factor. But I agree no excuses even the ref excuse is valid.
Just got home from AP and the drive home reminded me…
1) we can argue positional value all day but the bottom line question is, did the team get better?
2) After two years of Holmes drafts, it’s important to wait for the totality of the draft before making sweeping conclusions
@HonoluluBlues_ There are scouts that literally breath talent evaluations. They are talking to family, friends, coaches, ex-girlfriends, etc. and gathering detailed info. There is so many things a fan will never know about a player. I’d like to think they know better than anyone.
@DumasMike I agree that the people you hang with have the most influence. But, there are concerning patterns here and you have to ask yourself, if the effort to get him to be a MCDC is just too much or the locker room rejects him, then isn’t that a waste of draft pick?
@DLFPtweets I am not looking for perfection but I think we can spend the capital on a safer bet or trade down. Just my opinion. A lot of flags but like you said, I trust the front office and coaching staff.
@DLFPtweets He is a beast for sure. So was Suh and he was known for disappearing in important parts of the game. Carter does as well. I am curious how often he was double teamed? Might be important to look into.
