Want to change the offertory prayers of the Mass? That's fine.

Liturgical change isn't inherently bad and happened naturally all the time throughout history...

But this? Why swap this already beautiful prayer with an old Jewish meal prayer instead of basically anything else?

The Liturgy is the backbone of the Catholic Church. During Advent especially, utilize the spiritual fruit that the Church is offering through the sacrifice of the Mass daily.
