Really pleased with my first GCSE PE remote theory lesson today. Used the visualiser to model an exam paper we completed before Christmas. The students were all rockstars!!! #GCSEPE#remotelearning@TLMountbatten
Day 7 of 12 days of pedagogy-draw it/make it! My class had the challenge of drawing their own interpretation of Stresemann’s recovery of Weimar, they loved it! @TLMountbatten#12daysofpedagogy
Day 9 of the 12 days of pedagogy was Express Yourself! My RE class were given a quote by Gandhi and they had to perform its meaning, with the class guessing. Not only was it a huge amount of fun but the class demonstrated excellent understanding of Gandhi @TLMountbatten
Today’s 12 days of pedagogy was one of my absolute faves-random act of kindness. I decided to gift the canteen staff who not only feed me and the hundreds of students who pile into the canteen every day, but they smile all the time! @TLMountbatten#12daysofpedagogy
Today’s 12 days of pedagogy was “Teach this image”. A random picture to incorporate into tutor time or lessons-great discussions all around the school. Found one of the images from this awesome column from the NY Times https://t.co/piWpwyRp29 @TLMountbatten#12daysofpedagogy
#12DaysofPedagogy - Today was using music in lessons. So I bought in my vinyl player so we could listen to ‘i wanna be yours’ (one of the pomes we study that also happens to be an Arctic Monkeys song) 80s style 🤙🏻 @TLMountbatten
Day 4 of 12 days of pedagogy-rockin around the Christmas tree! Music to calm, music to inspire and music to excite and make students laugh! Have loved hearing all the staff enjoy this one @TLMountbatten#12daysofpedagogy
Day 2 of 12 days of pedagogy: Thunk Friday. “If you could take a magic pill that meant you would never fail, would you take it?” I was impressed to see that many of my year 10s argued about the need for failure to develop!! #12daysofpedagogy@TLMountbatten
Day 2 advent share. This gothic ingredients ppt always makes my students chuckle and engaged. You have to deliver it with the sarcasm intended! Based on articles from years go! https://t.co/koc8xd20NE #christmaspedagogy
#12daysofpedagogy is BACK! Today was Poundland Pedagogy; challenged to use a random item from a selection in staff briefing. I used paint strips to help students revise for part B (whole text) and think about characters differently in Romeo and Juliet. @TLMountbatten
@TLMountbatten loved #12daysofpedagogy and using Poundland pedagogy. Students giving different religious opinions using the faces. Great challenge. Great fun 😁
Absolutely loved launching the 12 days of pedagogy and the responses to day 1 of Poundland pedagogy have been awesome! Now looking forward to day 2! @TLMountbatten. Look out for the retweets for awesome teaching practice
Getting my head around how Graphic Organisers can work in Art. Inspired by @olicav and my T&L colleagues I’ve had a go. I’ve started with the basics of Art Theory, and am now excited to explore how to present project/theme & knowledge organisers. #arted#dualcoding#pedagogy
Tonight staff spent time exploring the cognitive science behind #dualcoding based on the fab work (and book) from @olicav and now we have received this wonderful before and after transformation from a member of staff 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 #BeforeAndAfter
All these CPD sessions and resources now planned to go alongside my new book about starting a research informed programme or journey next term.
Making it real and practical. Drawing on all the great sessions we've run and been to thanks to @TLMountbatten
Wow! Thank you Paul Dix. Top read. So many excellent behaviour management strategies. Currently writing my intervention ‘script’ now. @pauldixtweets@TLMountbatten
