Michael, what have you understood?
One operates on assumptions - mainly Michael’s - keeping learning hidden.
The other invites real dialogue that reveals how learning is going.

Still one of my most useful teaching strategies: the post-it note of stress - normally issued a couple of lessons before an assessment, so I can reassure beforehand. Everyone has to think of something.
