Wrong analysis, this was Roberto's tactical mistake. You've got 3 of the world's best midfielders creating zero chances. No depth in the passing, look at the chart. Ronaldo dropped deep to make space, marked by 2 CBs the whole game. He wasn't the problem. Soccer isn't your forte so you need a real pundit. You don't ask your kicker to return punts.
"You know what you have to do Roberto? You have to have a heart to heart with Cristiano Ronaldo. Who's coaching the team? Is it you or is it him?"
@DaxMcCarty11 on what Portugal should do moving forward ⬇️
Wrong analysis, this was a tactical mistake by Roberto. You have 3 of the best midfielders in the world and they didn't create a single chance. Look at the pass chart: there was zero depth in the passing strategy. Ronaldo dropped deep multiple times to generate space behind him (he had 2 CBs constantly marking him). HE wasn't Portugal's problem. This is surface-level analysis, and I get that "soccer" isn't your forte (love your other sports takes), but you really need a proper pundit. You don't ask your NFL kicker to return punts. There's a role for each position.

“For me personally, it’s not like all that much is changing. It’s just another big tournament, to be honest.”
USMNT star Christian Pulisic is on latest edition of GQ magazine.
He knows people are excited about the World Cup, but he’s relaxed about it.
“I get texts from my family and close friends—they're definitely all excited about it, for sure,” Pulisic said.
“I mean, I feel like I’m constantly playing in big games. For me personally, it’s not like all that much is changing. It’s just another big tournament, to be honest.
“A lot of people are trying to make it even more than it is. I get it, it’s a huge tournament [shrugs].
“I’m looking forward to it.”
Let’s see if this relaxed attitude can ease pressure off of Pulisic and help him shine in the World Cup.
