@JeremyVineOn5 When you run a company , you are accountable. You can delegate responsibility for work BUT you do not give up accountability - if those who you empower fail you - you fail! Saying I did not know is failing- as you do not have control . Sir Keir would been sacked as the CEO !
@UKLabour BoE controls the rates not Labour - and why do they cut them? Because they have to! due to the car crash of an economy you are creating - the
fact Labour claim this as their good work proves they have no clue about economics!
@MelJStride@TheFCA A CEO or indeed any senior manager leaking key information or suggesting such about their company, which might cause investors to act , before it is formally announced - is a criminal offence . There is no debate here!
@Jenny_1884 Agreed - Look up “help to save” - where the govt encourages those on benefits to save some money and give them a bonus as a reward every 2 years! Why are we still paying them benefits if they can afford to save? Unbelievable
@RachelReevesMP@hmtreasury Paying more to those with “limited income” does not solve child poverty - it merely sticks an expensive plaster over a much bigger problem? Why Do we have so many large families who can’t afford to meet their responsibilities as parents?
@UKLabour Standard Labour - tell everyone how good they are by raising wages, giving away free breakfast clubs, protecting benefits etc but never looking at the consequences - fewer jobs, higher prices and none of it paid for in this parliament! Should be illegal
@EddieBurfi So 3 in 10 families have no one working!!!!! No spender why are poor! In my world mum and dad both work to provide for the family! Yes it takes planning, compromise, flexibility but it works!
@The_TUC@nowak_paul This must be the most over used and factually incorrect statement ever- those with the broadest shoulders already a pay a significantly larger share and proportion of the burden - what they really mean is those with broad shoulders need to pay “even” more!!!!!!
@UKLabour So Labour have simply given more money away - surprise - but that is not solving the problems - ie free school clubs is a costly plaster but not a solution
@BBCBreakfast Here we go - time to blame everyone else for the bad things and takes credit for anything that is good - to justify whatever she wants! Destroying our economy as she goes - we won’t have an economy with 4 more years of this!
@Keir_Starmer So a nation with 100 people, has an illegal migrant arrive, they are deported and swapped for a legal migrant - so we now have 101 people!
If every illegal who arrives is swapped for a legal - our population increases by that number!
How has this solved anything?
@Keir_Starmer Interest rate falls have nothing to do with the Labour management of the economy - infact the opposite!
Giving more money away in wage settlements to doctors / train drivers etc has driven up inflation which makes it harder to reduce interest rates!
@WiganAndrew Seriously? Quite the opposite - possibly the worst 1st year in govt ever - killed the economy, killing jobs, exploding debt , no policies or values they can stick to. The cost to this country in the years ahead will be colossal - all has to be paid for
@Keir_Starmer 7m new appts in a year - really? That would take 1000 doctors doing 28 appts per day, 5 days a week for 46 weeks - assuming you did not train 1000 new doctors overnight then who are these magicians?
@GavinWilliamson@AngelaRayner Surprise surprise - guaranteed vote winner to prop up their failing vote from the rest! - most (not all) 16 year olds don’t pay tax and don’t have major bills so their “wants” will be somewhat different to the majority ! A disaster for Britain is looming!
@Dan4Barnet On what planet do you live? Read between the lines - mortgage rates not falling as fast they should have due to stalling economics, business confidence dented hugely due to hikes in NI and minimum wage costs, etc etc
@BBCBreakfast The reality is they are making it up as the go along, flip flopping ideas to try to catch votes that keep them in power rather than have a strategy that is well thought out, that works for the country long term.
@GMB@JamesGooderson Surprise surprise, give in to every union demand and you simply get more jumping on the band wagon - asking for more! What are Labour doing ?
