@TheFaccey@Negative_Crypt2@htomufc Ok but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that picking a player with 4-5 times less G/A than like 4 options isnt a wise decision is it?
Everyone is better than Mbappe
Everyone is more important than Mbappe
But if his team fails now, everyone will cook Mbappe for not carrying them. Agenda😂
So let me get this straight…
Ousmane Dembélé wins Ligue 1 Player of the Season after starting only 9 league games, and suddenly people are people are worshipping him?
But when Vinícius Júnior dropped nearly 40 G/A, carried in big UCL nights, dominated elite defenses, and was decisive in trophies, those same people were saying “stats don’t matter,” “he’s not complete,” or “he lacks maturity” for the Ballon d’Or debate.
The inconsistency is hilarious.
When it’s Vinicius:
“Goals and assists aren’t everything.”
“He complains too much.”
“He’s too emotional.”
“He needs to be more classy.”
But when it’s their favorite player:
Injuries don’t matter.
Limited starts don’t matter.
Availability suddenly doesn’t matter.
Eye test and “impact” become the main argument.
Football discussions have become more about narratives and PR than actual performances.
Nobody is saying Dembélé is a bad player he’s world class on his day. But the standards used for Vinicius are clearly different from the standards used for everyone else.
@wakandan00@hmuforrcookies@AdiiiFCB Not many BUT you play sexy football, win most matches, have awful awful squad depth but bc of la masia tax you rely on the youth to try and mask the unavailability of having adequate squad depth which places extra strain on the first 11 to play consistently
@ikorodu_boy@hmuforrcookies@AdiiiFCB I disagree, its mistakes/stupid decisions which cause those red cards. The high line allows barca to play attractive football
