Diana Ontaneda & @camilofago presented their research on predation on caterpillar dummies 🐛⬅️🦜🐁🦎🐜 in the dry forest of #Ecuador. They highlight the importance of arthropod predators. They also found that predators preferred brown and white caterpillars over green.@ConsEcol
Some post-insights from our project symposium @utpl at the end of March. It was a great opportunity to present research made in #South#Ecuador on biodiversity under global change. Many students took the opportunity to discuss their research results using a poster or talk.

Currently she is collecting her first data, together with Diana Ontaneda and Klever Azanza (technichians from Loja), taking canopy pictures, measuring soil moisture and litter depth and checking for seedlings.
Laipuna Research station is busy again! During this time of the year, it becomes crystal clear why this forest is called a "dry forest".
In the past couple of weeks, our PhD candidate Lea Kerwer sowed a second set of 4 native tree species flowering during the dry season.
