We continue to receive more reports of armyworm damage everyday. Keep scouting forage stands for feeding and larvae. We will also need to be scouting when we plant small grains / cover crops this fall as a third generation could still be here and impact those.
If you are planning to use cover crops this summer or fall please let TMK Bakersville know your needs. As with past years, supplies may be tight. Pricing will not be set at this time, but letting us know an idea of quantity will allow us to start working on supply.
Side Dress Corn=Use treated urea or ammonium sulfate. TMK Bakersville has a spreader with narrow tire spacing for this purpose. Taller corn will require nitrogen to be applied with a high clearance applicator.
If you have Xtend or Xtendflex soybeans planted keep in mind that the cutoff date for Xtendimax spraying is June 30th. If you are planning to have TMK make a post application of Xtendimax let us know SOON so we can get you on the list and plan accordingly.

This week we were experimenting with a new technology, spraying wheat fungicide with a drone. We contracted with a company from western Ohio to come to our area.
