NO NO NO! PAC-2s are older yes but less capable? Fuck no. They are a different type of interceptor and the GEM- T is for (guided enhanced missile- TBM) the T at the end only effects the design of the fusing and what it is built to attack.

A proper patriot unit (depending on threat profiles) should have a mixed loadout of pac-3, pac-2, and MSE. Each interceptor has a different PK (probability of kill) on different threats.

The reason we haven’t ordered them in so long is we had literally warehouses full of them until WE started using them all. Some did go to Ukraine as well but we kept the vast majority for ourselves.

Also pac 2 is Raytheon and pac 3/ mse is Lockheed.
