New study by Attiya Haseeb & Dr. Mitra in 'Case Studies on Transport Policy' explores post COVID-19 travel shifts among students in GTA & Hamilton. Findings show a move from public transit and active travel to car commuting. This shift is linked to demographics and life changes.
Attiya Haseeb defended her thesis “Exploring Intersections of Environmental and Social Impacts in Young Adults Travel Behaviour” It reveals that Gen Y & Z favour sustainable travel modes but still face social exclusion risks. She advocates for better land use and transit policies.
Sarah Giacomantonio & @raktimmitra researched new bike facilities in #GTA & women's cycling. Higher rates observed among women aged 30-44, part-time workers/students, & mothers. Intersectional analyses is crucial to challenge gender roles & promote sustainable transport.
In 15 mins (3:45pm) at #TRBAM, TransForm Lab's researcher Remington Latanville presents research on COVID-19's impact on active transportation in Canada's 3 largest metropolitan areas.

Tess Peterson of @TMUTransForm reflects on feedback she & @RaktimMitra received on a report analyzing the equity implications of @TTCnotices service cuts. She challenges us to think beyond measuring relative service changes, and consider broader impacts: https://t.co/zwEip8Jqkw
