Baby steps to figuring out who I am after widowhood. Loves Jesus & my big, messy, Jerry Springer family. Ex-Republican. Overly political since age 10. She/her
Twitter has been kind of my "safe space," vs FB, to be more myself, to be more transparent. As for many of you, family issues & beliefs can be a challenge. But I'm tired of feeling like 1 person here & a more subdued 1 there.
So I did a thing today.

@BethMooreLPM Beth, I was in there in Omaha this weekend w/ my dearest friend. It was such an annointed time, & you have no idea how much God blessed us w/ your message & spoke directly to us.
My heart breaks for you & your team.
Holding you in prayer 🙏

If the Gospel you received was just about not going to hell, you got the Great Value Gospel.
Like yeah… it’s technically Gospel, but the original joint gon hit different & you only gon choose the store brand when you pinchin pennies.
A Baptist preacher and college president has apologized and is seeking forgiveness after allowing a seminar that featured a man with long hair and an alleged Methodist.

Hitler was elected chancellor of Germany with only 43.9% of the vote.
But because the anti-Hitler forces were divided, Hitler won.
Hitler then made himself dictator and abolished free elections.
I just can’t imagine a scenario where we get to heaven and Jesus says…
“You loved too much.”
“You showed mercy too often.”
“You welcomed too many people into the Church.”
“You spent too much time pursuing justice on behalf of the poor, marginalized and oppressed.”
We don't have to be offended by everything. We don't have to let the fundamentalists (progressive or conservative) shame us into living in the same joylessness they trudge through.
We can give the benefit of the doubt. We can show grace. We can love. We can be better.
“Taking the Lord’s name in vain” isn’t about saying “oh my god” when you’re frustrated.
It’s about using the name of Jesus to justify oppression, marginalization and violence.
It’s about calling yourself a Christian without doing the work of Christ—justice, liberation and love.
@Amazonhelp I'm not a fan of having my orders shipped via USPS instead of FedEx or UPS. They are unreliable and too often do not arrive on the promised schedule. I've been a Prime customer for years, because I like the speed and reliability. I'm rethinking that because of this.
