[Review & Reflections]

If I could describe Taemin’s appearance and performance in 3 words, they would be: stylish, sensational and exceptional.

From the moment Taemin stepped out on stage, the audience cheered and gasped. Taemin was dressed in ivory and green satin. The flowing multi-layered fabric panels coupled with the norigae made Taemin appear like a fine prince.

However, attention quickly turned to the gap on his torso. There appeared to be some fabric that was strategically missing, leaving his chest bare. In true Taemin style, his stylists designed an outfit that was elegant and stylish yet had a risqué element.

In the days leading up to the concert, fans looked forward to seeing Taemin perform Permission, the first time since Coachella. This event would also mark the first time that Taemin’s regular dancers performed the choreography. It was delightful to see Taemin’s dancers bring their style and expressions to the performance.

Permission – Sexy In the Air – MOVE – Guilty – Advice. Each of these songs represent a specific era in Taemin’s career (MOVE, Advice, Guilty, Eternal and the new album expected for release later in 2026). This setlist was like a tasting sampler of Taemin's discography.

Watching Taemin perform, it dawned upon me how consistent Taemin is as an artist. Despite performing some of these songs countless of times over the years, he manages to bring something new and invoke reactions from fans and viewers.

A final point of reflection is the atmosphere inside the theatre at Palais des Congrès de Paris. It was unbelievable. With each song that Taemin performed, the audience sang and cheered louder. There were crowds of people standing. Many in the audience were waving lightsticks from other groups.

By the time Taemin performed Advice, the audience had become Taemin’s choir and cheering squad. I can only hope that Taemin and his performance team fed off the crowd’s energy and enjoyed the experience. If you have a moment, look up any fancam from the concert and turn up the volume to understand the atmosphere that night.
