I think all platforms like this are bound to this fate tbh, vgen just has higher level of security/entry point which raises the bar slightly.
Besides - reputable, professional creators don't need it anyway, as they most likely already have established connections.
I look at it as more of additional venue/springboard for begginer and intermediate creators to start building connections, reputation and eventual transition out, but not the main platform to base their business on.
