Forestry is a big deal in this state, and it was good to be part of the conversation with leaders who care about keeping it strong for the next generation. #TNAgriculture is built on hard work, strong markets and industries like this one that keep our rural communities moving.
I spent time at The University of Memphis today for their “Timber Talks,” visiting with folks about the future of Tennessee forestry and the lumber industry.
Tennessee rice. You heard that right.
I visited @tennemorice in West TN when the Schultz family runs the only rice farm AND mill in our state, handling everything from field to final product.
That’s how you keep agriculture local, strong and growing.
Last week, I met with TN’s newly appointed FSA State Committee. We discussed expanding access to @USDA programs for our farmers, upcoming federal changes, and what current ag trends could mean for producers this year.
Strong partnerships keep Tennessee agriculture resilient.
TDA announces the launch of an updated @PickTnProducts website, offering a more streamlined way for consumers to connect with local farmers, producers and artisans across the state.https://t.co/IyYCullQ5p
Had a great time visiting @OfficialRFDTV today to talk about all things #TNAgriculture. I enjoyed sitting down with new anchor Eliza Petry and sharing the story of the hardworking men and women who keep our state’s No. 1 industry moving forward.
Thank you Carter Co. Cattlemen’s Association for the warm welcome at your Spring 2026 meeting. I appreciated the opportunity to visit with local producers, share updates from @TNAgriculture, and see the county’s new UT Extension building. Proud to support TN cattle producers.
It was an honor to be with Lincoln Co. FFA for their Agriculture’s Finest Awards Night this. A room filled with students, families and supporters reminded me the future of TN agriculture is bright. Congrats to the honorees and thank you to those investing in these young leaders.
I always value the chance to visit one-on-one, hear what you’re seeing in your operation and talk through the issues that matter most to Tennessee agriculture.
If you’re registered and attending the show, I hope you’ll make time to come talk with me.
I’ll be at the @farm_gin_show in Memphis tomorrow, and I hope you’ll stop by and see us.
From 1:30–2:30 p.m., I’ll be at the Tennessee Department of Agriculture booth, space 4019. (1/2)
National FFA Week is a great reminder of the impact agricultural education has on our state.
I was glad to spend time at Tosh Farms with our TN State FFA Officers during their goodwill tour. These young leaders represent the very best of FFA and the future of #TNAgriculture.
Friday at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville was time well invested. Good to visit with Farm Bureau leaders, industry partners, and families who make agriculture strong. From the show floor to the tractor pull arena, the pride in agriculture was on full display. #TNAg
Thankful for the chance to speak at the National Block & Bridle Banquet during CattleCon last night.
Block & Bridle does important work helping students understand responsibility, stewardship and service. Encouraging to see so many young people carry this industry forward.

The @TNAgriculture Division of Forestry has 62 personnel deployed across 9 assignments in 9 counties, clearing trees & debris from roadways.
The Division of Forestry is vital to the department and the state. These men and women are always among the first to respond when Tennessee needs help, and I’m incredibly grateful for their dedication and service. (2/2)
I spent time with TDA's Divison of Forestry chainsaw crews seeing firsthand the incredible work they’ve done clearing roads and downed trees. I even got to lend a hand (with proper oversight). (1/2)
