Romero: You’ve got to make sure that if they’re going to grab more ground, they have to battle us for every inch. That’s why I’m really proud of our lawyers on the Alien Enemies Act case.

It’s incredible. Our lawyers have been pulling all-nighters. When the Supreme Court said, “You now have to file habeas petitions in each of the different jurisdictions,” most people would’ve paused—but we got up and did it. We started filing habeas after habeas in every one of those district courts.

Now they’re saying we need to understand more about the due process and notice requirements. We’re tracking it. And what we need to do collectively is this: not surrender a single inch without a pitched battle. Make them fight for every little success—because that’s what we’re here for.

And when they try to intimidate us—which they’re trying to do now, with rumors flying about executive orders targeting environmental groups, immigrant rights groups, democracy groups—we’ll be ready. We are already well organized to make sure we don’t cede an inch without giving it everything we’ve got..

5/ One commentator, noting the lack of any real evidence of his gang affiliation, went so far as to say th if there was evidence of his gang affiliation, it would be fine to send him to a prison in El Salvador. The truth is that IT DOES NOT MATTER IF HE IS INNOCENT OR GUILTY!
